Visualization-Activation Muscle Training
Utilizing mirrors, applied pressure and limb resistance, clients visualize each movement and work to replace patterns of nonuse.
Other Equipment
A wide range of exercise equipment is used for "out of the box" training. These techniques increase strength, range of motion, balance and control. These exercises, incorporated into a workout, keep it fun yet challenging.
Total Gym
The Total Gym is used for lower body and core exercises. Clients are able to perform partial body weight squats (assisted and unassisted) in order to strengthen and relearn to control movement. Balancing in the upright position on the Total Gym helps strengthen the trunk and core muscles. This equipment benefits all levels of ability
Precor Workstation Tower
The Precor Tower is utilized in overall body strength training exercises. You perform the exercises in and out of your wheelchair to increase mobility and core strength.
The glider builds cardio-vascular health, maintains bone density and increases circulation. This is an excellent exercise to teach the body to regulate blood pressure while standing.
Parallel Bars
Clients
who have progressed to this level work on standing exercises
including weight shifting, balance, proper stance and foot
placement with a goal of taking their first steps again. Clients are able
to view themselves from the
side and front in mirrors
to assess their form and posture.
